Scot Patriquin
Barrister
and Solicitor
Trademark Agent
Extension 111
Scot Patriquin is the founder of Patriquin Law. He earned his
juris doctor degree from the Faculty of Law at the University
of Toronto . While there, he earned the prestigious national academic
designation of Blakes Scholar. He began his career at Blake Cassels
and Graydon LLP, a prominent Bay Street law firm. Although the
work was often challenging and exciting, it was clear to him that
his interests and skills were better suited to working directly
with independent businesses.
With his extensive teaching background, Scot educates his clients
on issues as he works with them to solve them. His approach to
providing legal advice is to give the client all the background
knowledge relevant to a particular issue, so the client can then
make a truly personal but informed decision.
Scot has earned a reputation for skilfully negotiating directly
or indirectly on behalf of clients. He understands that privately
owned companies often need assistance, advice, or just a respected
sounding board in areas outside of those traditionally dealt with
by law firms.
Scot is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper
Canada and a registered trademark agent. He is a member of the
Young Professionals Program of the Toronto Board of Trade. He
also regularly serves as a guest lecturer for various entrepreneur
educational programs in the city of Toronto .
Scot is serving his first term on the Commission for Legal Matters
and Eligibility for the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
He also has worked as a volunteer head coach for Toronto Playgrounds
Baseball for the last five years, serving as both a coach and
mentor to high school age students. Finally, he works as the manager
and a player for the Toronto Spitfires, a wheelchair basketball
club that allows both able bodied and disabled athletes to compete
against and alongside one another.
Scot is a native English speaker and is conversant in Spanish
and French.
